This old hat and I have been to GenCon every year for the last eleven years and there is only one part of the whole weekend that I don’t love, Wednesday night. Each GenCon Wednesday after months of planning a trip, plenty of money spent, hours upon hours of deck-building and a good long drive I have finally arrived in Indianapolis with a convention to attend…… tomorrow. Now I get to sit and wait and do nothing, because there is nothing to do….
Or is there? This year I have found something to do with my time, and you are all welcome to join me! In my spare time I am an amateur Stand-Up Comedian, and I have found a stage in Indy on Wednesday night. For $5 you can see me and about 15 other comedians perform our best jokes and compete in the Great Indiana Mic-Off for the prize: A chance to open for a professional act that weekend! The fella on the bill that weekend is called JB Smoove and he is pretty darn funny. With your help I might be able to open his show and get a chance to talk business with him. But even if I don’t, I’ll still entertain your ears and eyes until you spew giggles from your laugh hole.
Comedian Facts: Despite having similar names, the Orange Hat Guy has never been mistaken for the “Orange Hot Guy”.
The show is at a place called Morty’s Joint, a real live comedy club! As such, you can buy food and alcohol there, but you must be 18 and have a valid ID to get in. It is a short 15 minute drive north from downtown, and I would love to see you all there, so if you will be in town and bored on Wednesday night you should come on out and have a great time with me!
