Continuing the Tien theme, we wanted to make a card that helped the suicide theme of the deck. Not convinced that folks would want to run a card that just strictly discarded other cards from your deck (much like a majority of the cards your opponent would be running), we decided to attach an attack to it as well.
So we added the last bit of paying off what’s left of your life deck for a final last ditch attack. Traditionally, suicide attack cards have not seen much use in the game, but we hope the added utility and fitting it into an archetype will see more use of this card. Plus you can play it at any point in the game and not instantly lose if it fails, so long as you aren’t using the suicide portion of the card.
Originally, this card was “Heroes only” required about 12 power stages to use and didn’t have the selective discard (essentially making the new Virtual Tien the only character capable of using it). We tried to do the stages thing, but had to be careful about unwittingly giving ally decks a new tool. Next we decided on the current wording, but it wasn’t Tien only. I had hoped that it could be used as a tool in Frieza decks to put Frieza’s Anger Blast and Frieza’s Irritation Grows in the discard pile (which Tien can still totally do now). Unfortunately, combo potentials were too high with cards like Majin Buu’s Energy Spray and Yajirobe, among what I’m sure are many others, that we had to make it Tien only.

Hmmmmm got a few ideas forming with this already.
My only issue would be that this gives Tien the only finisher like this worth anything at all, unless you start comparing it with Earth’s Spirit Bomb. I don’t think it’s too good. At least not since it kills you and 25 damage can still be gotten around. It is right around where it needs to be. Which also might be its biggest problem.
I think it would have been nice to see other people be able to use this like Roshi, Kami, and if he was ever made Master Mutaito. Since they all learn and used the move, and it cost most of them their lives.
Other then that small thing love the card and the work you all are doing.
This card is good at being Tien only.
