This week, we’re going to introduce a three-card subset featuring Future Gohan. As you know, I’m not a big fan of the current level one for Future Gohan. In fact, I’ve even talked at length about it and its been somewhat of a joke in other articles. Well as it turns out, our resident virtual card template master Sayjin seems to be a big fan of the guy. Since Sayjin has put in a ton of hours helping us with various aspects of the website and the Gen Con event, we have let him create his own “fixes” to the Future Gohan personality stack with a new level 1, level 4 and Future Gohan’s first named card, so he could run him how he always wanted for one-day only at Gen Con. Of course we don’t play favorites here, so the caveat is that anybody is free to use these cards as they are now an official part of the Virtual Card Set 2012.
The first thing you may notice is his ability to declare a Namekian Tokui-Waza. This reflects the future that this Gohan comes from, where he never received training from Goku and was only trained by Piccolo. Keep in mind that Future Gohan does not have Namekian Heritage and Future Gohan is not added to the list of personalities who can declare a Namekian Tokui-Waza. Since it is a card power, you must use this level one in your Main Personality stack in order to declare a Namekian Tokui-Waza. But if you do go Namekian, his power allows you to make sure his higher levels that work specifically with the Saiyan style will now work for the Namekian style instead.
Check back later this week for the next part of Sayjin’s Future Gohan set!
Good job Sayjin.
Thank you very much.
Nice work Geoff.
cool power!
Im really liking the Redone Future Gohan. Amazing job sayjin.
How will this work with Future Gohan lv.2?
“Each turn, if the first card you draw using your Mastery is a Saiyan Style card, you may show it to your opponent to draw another card.”…if using TS or WGS Namekian, would we draw another from bottom of dicard/life deck, or straight from the top of the life deck?
You would draw the card in the same manner that you drew the first, if possible.
really? i would think it would trigger a generic draw, like cell ht level 2.
Because it says “draw another card” instead of “draw a card”, I would rule that it tacks onto the original effect. Might need a Chippy tie breaker if that’s not enough for you though.
I’d just look at intent vs text….we have a lot of that in this game! it works either way, though.
You’re right, Joshman. The TS namekian style mastery says, Draw the bottom of your Discard Pile…, etc.
Because the level 2 power specifically states “…if the first card you draw using your Mastery is a Saiyan Style card, you may show it to your opponent to draw another card.”
The power is specifying where the mastery is drawing from. That is where you draw from. The same goes for the WGS Namekian Mastery.
