We accidently skipped the Red themed Dragon Ball card last week. Can you really blame us though? He’s easy to miss.
Like some other Red styled attacks, this one comes on a Combat card so watch out for things like Broly’s Might, Piccolo’s Fist Block or Trunks Energy Sphere. It is still a Red Style attack though, and it doesn’t remove itself from the game, meaning you can juggle it a bit with Red Axe Heel Kick. Like the previous Dragon Ball cards, since there is no Commander Red personality this is not considered a named card.
That’s it for the themed styled cards this go around. Orange can go screw itself. Check back later this week as we give an often requested character a new level one personality and her very first level four personality card. Later BroZ!
What is up with the non-named ness of them? Why do you need to point this out?
I feel like challenging the ruling on it but am too lazy to find my rulebooks.
I point it out because it is an easy to miss rule, as you have demonstrated.
Allow me to aid you, it’s on Pg. 29 of the Buu Saga Rulebook here: http://retrodbzccgcom.fatcow.com/2012/02/10/buu-saga-rule-book/28-to-29/
Which means, among other things, they aren’t affected by cards like Master Roshi’s Island, Arqua’s Arena, and Krillin lv 3 WGS.
sounds like videl to me!
I hope so. I’ve been requesting it since like forever
obviously they’re doing me a favor and making new Chi-Chi personalities.
ChiChi has a very reasonable level 1. Nothing outstanding, but certainly not one that needs fixing.
Videl would make sense to get fixed, however it would make just as much sense to be Bulma instead. Overall, Bulma was much more influential to the overall plot and she gets my guess.
love red energy, glad to see some cards helping it in your set. now I just need a personality half as good as pan and I’m in business.
You should make it an energy combat card. Currently it’s sphere-able.
Chippy
That’s probably the point. Like Red Double Strike.
why no orange card? id totally like for a deck that to me doesnt seem to be all good. orange physical attacks seem to need a card. oh well. guess this will have to do. lets hope for a new videl. one with a big amount of physical attacks, or finally a crappy energy.
yeah you guys should just make a card that attaches to the Orange WGS mastery or something. that would be fun w/o helping out the ‘evil’ side of orange!
i woulda liked to have seen this as a blue energy instead since the wgs blue mastery has gotten no support.
I would just be wary of giving much support to red anger as its already a pretty viable deck.
I completely agree with that. Bue has very few anger raising cards to make that mastery worth playing blue over red.
hey technically on that page of thte rulebook it states “name of a dbz personality” but it does not state “name of a dbz ccg personality card”…so…technically, doesn’t that mean that these are all named cards? nowhere does it clarify that it has to be the name of someone who has a personality CARD, it just states that it has to be a ‘personality’…thus any card with any character’s namein it would qualify as a named card
…and why no orange love? i mean you’re gonna ban swk, gonna nuke the mastery…you should consider an orange virtual card that may consider people to run one of the other orange masteries…
“Personality” is a card type and what the rule is referring to.
There are no plans to alter, errata or ban any Mastery cards.
And even if “personality” meant character and not the card type, it says DBZ. These are DB characters. No Z.
creative question for Geoff…that’s a VERY hi-res image of Commander Red, there. Was that actually pulled off a Dragon Ball DVD? Or was it from a Z/GT flashback or something.
I can actually take credit for this one. I captured it off the “Path to Power” movie on DVD.
ah, good stuff. i figured it didn’t look quite 1985-ish.
Over 90% of the card images are chosen or captured by Sayjin. I can only take credit for this image and Frieza From Hell.
Originally I tried to get an Officer Black card from Path, but he just looked too radically different from his Dragon Ball incarnation (and Blue hardly does anything in the movie).
