Gencon is now only a few weeks away and you can feel the excitement in the air. We wanted to remind you what events we are doing this year. If you’ve already purchased your Gen Con badge, you can already reserve your space for these events. We encourage you to this so we can judge whether or not we have a enough space. In the past, it has never been a problem getting into our events but it’s better to be safe than sorry. There’s no cost to attend the panels, but the tournament itself has an entry fee of $6. Don’t panic if the trournament fills up, we’ll take generic tickets and try to accommodate everyone as best we can if we get more than 32 players (like we did last year). You can search for these in Gen Con’s online system by using the Game ID.

Pokemon! Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Ball Z! Sailor Moon…? From Ani-Mayhem to Zatch Bell, there have been some interesting anime properties that have made the transition to card board in the US.
The Rise and Fall of Score Entertainment – Saturday, August 18, 2012 – 5:00 PM – Indianapolis Convention Center: Room 243 – Gaming ID: SEM1229963
Score Entertainment rose to prominence in the golden age of TCGs with hits like Dragon Ball Z and Inu Yasha. So how did it all end? Hear from the people that were there during the rise and fall.
Sealed boxes? Now we’re talking.
And suddenly the niche, fun decks get put away and the big guns come out.
Two thumbs up to Will for donating some prizes, although I fear it would make the tournament more competitive… Unless he’s got a ton of Saiyan Saga somehow. Then we don’t have to worry. =p
David “Chipmunk” Eckhard
Gunna Be Fun
I’ll take them at $5 a piece.
I don’t know about that Geoff….i think that there are still plenty of fun, non-lame options to run. At least if playtesting is any indication….
Boxes will most likely be split up, and not really much in the way of sealed boxes. Also, most of it is unlimited and none of the “money” sets, so hopefully it won’t influence the scene too much. They are still really nice prizes to give out though.
Sounds great. Is Adam possibly kicking in a few shirts or DVDs from FUNi?
Awesome, I still plan on playing what I’ve been testing out for the past few weeks.
I understand the top players should get most of the prizes but it would be sweet to give everyone a pack or two just for entering. Keep them coming back to Gencon and making this by far the best tournament to attend. Just my two cents.
You guys should take a vote or ask people at the tournament whether they want a standard tournament or tuff enuff next year. In my opinion, tuff enuff has more fun deck variety and would be a better option. I was thinking about playing certain decks this year, but then would always realize, hey this has no chance of beating a dragon ball deck, unless I get insanely lucky drawing huh??? or get one of the 6 gohan’s kicks or Majin Buu’s Fury cards in the deck. So I am just playing a dragon ball deck. Not necessarily less fun, but definitely less interesting than the red majin babadi anger/ally deck I was thinking about.
Or have both types 😀
I wish I had money to go to this. As is though my money is tied to my car and apartment right now. I am going to build for next year and be ready for that instead. Also, I have that ultra pro black bag seen at the bottom of that picture as well. The bag keeps the cards really neat and tidy
How do we reserve a space for the tournament/events?
Go to https://registration.gencon.com/ and create an account. If you already have a badge for Gen Con then you should already have an account. From there, just look up the events by their gaming ID. The panels are free, but you will have to pay for the tournament when you reserve a space.
I hope you’re all ready to suffer a grown up Travis Keller.
Any of the Michigan folk gonna be there? Rob, Jim, Dustin, etc?
