Here is the first of the Celestial Fighters that Baba calls out for her tournament: Fangs the Vampire!
Fangs is a Celestial Fighter and will be added to the Retro DBZ CRD to reflect such for all Retro Events (as will his comrades).
As you can tell from his power, Baba’s central theme will be mill. Since Baba nor her allies can attack, she’ll need someway to deck her opponent out and her fighters are just the way to do it. Normally Fangs would be a one-shot ally, but with Baba as your Main Personality he’ll just retreat to the Sensei Deck and be ready to be deployed on another turn. Fangs can either mill your opponent by four cards, or if you are facing against an anger deck you can chose to lower their anger to what essentially will be zero!
Now some might look at Fangs and think having a card that can reset your opponent’s anger every turn to be pretty overpowered against anger decks, but consider this: Baba misses out on attacks and any anger lowering secondary effects! Unless you pack some more non-attacks or non-combat cards that lower anger (besides the ever present Victorious Drill), then Fangs power is all you’ve got (and you’ve got to use it wisely and timely). Not only that, you miss out on the mill he provides if you use the anti-anger part. Of course, you could always just use the appropriately named Blue Biting Drill and do both (seriously, why doesn’t that card have Fangs on it?)!
That’s all for now, tune in on Friday when we reveal the next Celestial Fighter who was defeated by boobs! Later, BroZ!
Really, really powerful. Mainly the whole Baba being untouchable by any anger deck. I understand it’s purpose, but 3 anger would probably be better. You still have Vic Drill. You say ‘timely and wisely’, but it really doesn’t need to be wisely when you can just do it every single turn with her power.
I disagree. I think it makes Baba immune to “slime anger”, but not an MPPV deck, particularly Red. Even if it was changed to three anger instead of five, against a Red deck you are going to pop him as soon as your opponent reaches three anger anyway. Sure you can use it every turn, but it won’t help if your opponent is gaining at least one level per combat and keeping Fangs at bay with a Majin Buu’s Fury, Red Face Slap, Red Commander Red’s Command or even a Red Energy Blast.
so…you’re actually trying to make blue TS playable then?…blue biting drill + blue general blue’s fascist drill + fangs…or blue Buu saga for the prevention…choices, choices…
Very interesting idea w/ Baba. The fact that she cannot attack but can use powerful allies such as this is quite interesting. Is it maybe slightly too strong? I mean, if I were an Anger deck, what would be my answer to this? Can’t exactly discard or remove him because he’s protected by Baba.
But, beyond that tiny fear, I like the idea. Can’t wait to see the other fighters!
Chippy
If your are playing Red Style, you could sensei deck in the attack that puts cards into your opponent’s sensei deck. Then all the allies you would discard or remove still get removed/discarded if the sensei deck is full.
It’s true that you can’t discard or remove them permanently but you can for the battle. That makes any kind of ally hate or discard essentially a “Confrontation” for the combat. Also the aforementioned Majin Buu’s Fury, Red Face Slap and Red Commander Red’s Command will keep your anger as is. Neutralizing Fangs in a combat essentially neutralizes all anger lowering in Baba, unless they are packing something additional to lower your anger.
Baba is also a personality that needs to be in combat, so Baba decks will need to work out a good balance of stasis and defense in order to survive.
i dont think its crazy…you enter combat with either:
majin buu’s fury
red vigor orb
red energy blast
…you have 3-4 furys in your deck…prolly 3-6 of the others (you can use that to put him back into sensei for the turn) or one of the others mentioned above…and even so what if baba is great against anger…how many anger decks do we see?!?…she could lose to everything else anyway…
