Once again, you never really know how reliant you are on secondary effects from attacks to help control the board. Heroes already miss out on the colorless Android 19’s Energy Burst, but with Baba she also loses colored staples like Orange Stare Down and Blue Betrayal. Sure, you get to keep the old stand-by Don’t You Just Hate That and Drills Are For The Weak, but those are one shots at best. That’s where Bandages comes in.
Bandages is your saving grace to make sure that Recoome’s Vogue Drill doesn’t ruin your day. Bandages probably won’t be able to keep up with an Orange MBS Mastery on his own, but his power can get around Orange Focusing Drill and Freestyle MBS Mastery. Bandages won’t solve your problems permanently, but he can provide some valuable disruption. You could also always target your own Caught Off Guard Drill if you need to choose another target later, or save a drill if you level Baba (and you really want to do that). Unfortunately, his shuffle power is not a secondary effect to his discard power, so using the shuffle too much robs you of what is essentially Baba’s only method of attack.
That’s it for today. Check back on Wednesday when we reveal a former World Tournament champion (like Roshi, Goku, Tien and Hercule) who puts Baba on the offensive. Later, BroZ!
+1. I like this guy. And reshuffling instead of discard/removal adds a nice dimension.
Quick random thought, tho – Baba cannot attack. All of “her allies” discard from the top of the deck instead of attacking. If I were running the full Earth DB set (and maybe others, but Earth is easiest to do this w/), what’s preventing me from just not playing the DBs until they are the only cards left in my deck, and then Ball Out in 1 turn?
Chippy
Grandpa Gohan will be a powerful weapon against Ball, but the scenario that you described is still possible.
