As an immortal, Garlic Jr. can stand up to a bit more punishment than most. We didn’t want him to cap power stages like Android 16 the Battler for fear he would just be super annoying to play against with cards like Goku’s Quick Dodge and Pikkon’s Leg Catch ready to just pump Garlic Jr. back to full, so we had him cap life cards just like Trunks HT Lv. 1 does for energy attacks. Garlic Jr. does have a low power level and PUR, yet a fairly useful power making him a Villains parallel to Yajirobe Retired if you were looking for an evil control or ally deck. Combine this with the Dead Zone, and you have a sticky personality that’s pretty resilient to attacks.

I’m a huge fan of this and I guarantee you that it will see some action at gencon.
I like the card, but it feels a tad weak with the zero PUR yeah he’ll be great if he gets beatin down to zero. Would have liked to see him working with his named cards a bit more or card draws or maybe an attack since out of all of his other personality levels he has none.
I don’t really like the card image but nothing some custom proxy work won’t fix for me. Good card.
0 PUR seems like a bit much. Love the card and the idea, but 0 PUR gives you next to nothing.
The zero pur is going to make 0 difference at all. You won’t want to use him in a energy based deck anyway. This is a control personality. That is what he going to be used in. If you want a beats personality, there are better options but he would be near the top of the list of control mps.

Or jump kick. Garlic jr should run less physical defense than normal so it should it. Pre-garlic jr Every beats deck should probably be running, this just makes jump kick a staple.

Let’s not sugar coat this here. This power is just off the wall good. What Darryl is trying to get at by saying the 0 PUR ‘doesn’t matter’, is that in all of the decks this personality will excel at, whether he is at full or not is irrelevant. It of course would save even more damage if his PUR was higher, but I think he’s already mitigating enough damage. The 0 PUR serves as a balance.
I think the best sentence in this article is when he’s compared to Yajirobe. Not just since their PURs are the same, but even deeper they really do mirror each other. They both are control focused and they both had a pitiful MP set before each respective release. While this power will be devastating in Orange Control, as Darryl pointed out, they’ll probably be light on physical blocks making Jump Kick hit often. This level 1, while devastatingly powerful, will do for Garlic Jr what the Retired did for Yajirobe – make him a playable personality.

This is just bad card design. A blue MBS Mastery would pretty much make doing physical attacks against him useless. All you have to do for a DB deck is hold onto Blue Reverse, so they can’t KHSB you. Your opponent will never take a Dragonball ever. This is just moronic. -_-
How exactly would a MBS Blue Style Mastery make you immune to physicals? Why would you even run that mastery with this personality in a Ball deck? How many Blue cards would you even run in a blue ball to make MBS worthwhile?

Just a quick question, how does his power cap damage from physical attacks when he is at 0? Damage calculation happens before dealing damage so the defender would take the damage as power stages where it would instantly be converted in to life cards. This is the same principal that allows Orange Halting Drill to cap physicals while the defender is at 0. It seems, to me, that this is an exact opposite ruling of the way the game has always been played.
I’m not trying to sound rude, I’m just legitimately curious. I think you guys are doing great on the virtual cards, and I don’t think this is a huge deal just a little is necessary.
