Greetings Dragon Ballers, Didier here with Week 8 of my PanZ card of the week. I’m going to start posting these videos here on Saturdays with a short synopsis, but if you want to catch them earlier you should subscribe to my YouTube channel.
This week I’m reviewing my first Event card, Black Reflection. While just a card type in this game, “Event” generally speaks to a subset of cards that give you powerful effects in combat. This can be offensive events like Saiyan Power Up, defensive like Red Power Aura, or a combination of both with Stare Down.
So for events, I’ll be judging based on 3 criteria:
Offense – Potential for damage or to increase your damage
Defense – Reduce or prevent incoming damage
Combo Potential – How it combos with other cards in the game
So let’s get right into it!
Black Reflection.
Offense: 4/5
- +1 It’s basically an attack card. You can almost consider it an attack when building your deck
- +1 You can get any attack. The best attack.
- -1 It’s very weak early game. You haven’t used your mastery much, and he hasn’t used cards that banish themselves
Defense 3/5
- +1 There are tons of great counter cards you can pull for answers to your opponent’s board like: Blue Betrayal, Orange Staredown, Red Energy Blast, Saiyan Sabotage
- +1 Black doesn’t have much board clear. You can really use your opponent’s help.
- -1 You can’t depend on your opponent for everything. He doesn’t have to play cards that counter himself. You have to be somewhat self-sufficient.
- -1 You can only do one thing with this card and there aren’t that many defensive attacks right now. You only have 3 so use them wisely.
Combo Potential: 5/5
- +1 Suddenly, you’re going from blacks kit to one that’s limitless
- +1 If a card breaks the game, it will be this card. Did I say limitless?
- +1 Black doesn’t have card advantage really, it tries to disrupt with discarding. Black Reflection gives you something from every style that can give this. Discarding and extra cards? Thank you please, come again.
Total: 12/15
This card is not only a staple now, but will only get better as the game goes on.
Crazy! I’m crazy, you’re crazy, play this damn card!
Had some fun experience with this card the other day. I was playing blue vs. black and my opponent used Black Reflection on my Blue Terror and got another Black Reflection, and repeated the process, getting another Reflection and doing the same again to get another card from his deck.
Myself, with Black Ginyu,I drew 2 Black Reflections and a Staredown against an Orange deck. After hitting staredown, I played the first Reflection to play his Orange Uppercut, and then paid the stages to fetch a Black Interceptor Barrage. Then I repeated the process again, getting another Black Interceptor Barrage. Then, I cast one Barrage after the other. This card can be insane.
My favorite encounter with this card has to be when I triple Reflection’d in a single combat against Namekian Piccolo. Finger Laser x2 and a Side Kick…oh the carnage http://youtu.be/QSwqYU-Nm-8
