Virtual Card Set 2014 – ADVENTURE TIME!

We have shown Bulma some love, both practically and fanservicey with our Virtual Cards so far. There have always been calls to have us help out Bulma the Wife by improving cards like Bulma Finds a Drill and Bulma Finds a Dragon Ball with errata, however we have always stood by the belief that errata is meant to adjust the power balance of cards and not for adding additional features and benefits to cards. It would be bad form for us to issue errata on cards just so they work better in our decks, and we all run into cards that if they were just a little different they would work so much better for us, so it is better to stay away from that slippery slope altogether.

What we can do, however, is make cards to support “half done” decks, characters and archetypes. And that is the purpose of these cards. We want to help Bulma as a personality, much like Chi-Chi is already playable in so many different deck types. While Bulma has some playable Lv. 1’s now, her Level 2 and Level 3 are way behind the curve. So we did the one thing you can do to any personality to make them playable: we added consistency.

22 Bulma Lv. 2

(Note: We’ll have to update the text but just in case I want to clarify the Non-Combat card you control for this effect must also be in play.)

23 Bulma Lv. 3

Now, other than for the atrocious Saiyan Saga Lv. 1, you’ll notice that these new personalities work well with the existing Bulma personalities. It’s true that it doesn’t add much to the already very playable Bulma the Playmate (other than making leveling a non-issue and an extra card if you reach the Lv. 3), but it does add much to the previously mentioned Bulma the Wife by adding more uses to Bulma’s sometimes less than useful named non-combats. Even Bulma, Vegeta’s Anchor, can start to make waves as a great stasis and Dragon Ball personality by getting two free blocks from Level 2 up! All this, and Bulma already has a pretty easy way to jump levels!

That’s it for today, but we aren’t done with Bulma yet! Stay tuned for a Bulma named Combat, Non-Combat and Location to come in and give a boost to the Wife and a few other decks. Which would you like to see next?

Later, BroZ!
