Blue Mental Drill PanZ: Card of the Week 9

Greetings Dragon Ballers, Didier here with Week 9 of my PanZ Card of the Week. I had a ton of fun shooting this week and I hope it shows in the recording! As always, subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch this each Tuesday or keep checking back here for it on Saturday mornings.

This week I’m reviewing a drill card, Blue Mental Drill. Much like Events, Drills have a multitude of different ways they can help you. So let’s focus on the three things we care most about in this fighting game:

Offense – Potential for damage or to increase your damage

Defense – Reduce or prevent incoming damage

Combo Potential – How it combos with other cards in the game

I’m feeling cerebral today with… !

 S038 Blue Mental Drill

 Blue Mental Drill

Offense: 3.5/5

  • +1 You can see what attacks will hit and be in Hit Effect heaven with Blue Neck Beam.  Save a big Goku’s Kamehameha for the right moment!
  • +1 With knowledge of your opponent’s blocks, you can bait them or avoid them all together!
  • -1 It doesn’t add any damage. None. Zero.

Defense 4/5

  • +1 With 2 Endurance, this 1 card becomes 3 in your deck.
  • +1 Save your blocks and defensive effects for the right moment, when they’ll have a huge impact! I’m looking at you TiaWT.
  • -1 You’re going to have to bend over and take whatever your opponent has in his hand if you lack the proper answers.

Combo Potential: 4/5

  • +1 Lets you play out the entire combat in your head and see nearly all combinations.
  • +1 Many blue cards have two or three ways they can be used (with Blue’s mastery). Once you add in copied attacks, things get crazy! Make the right choice always with this card.
  • -1 The only thing this card does is optimize your combat. You are no stronger with this card on the field.

Total: 11.5/15

They seem to be supporting copied attacks in Set 2, so I can only imagine how many options Blue’s going to have in combat making your choices matter that much more. My brain already hurts, play Blue Mental Drill!

Tune in next week for Namekian style. If you have an idea on what Namekian style card I should review, post below!
