Isolation: Card of the Week 14

Greetings Dragon Ballers, Didier here with Week 14 of my PanZ Card of the Week. I took some time off, but after a Senzu bean I’m picking it back up! Check out RNG’s first vlog on the controversial Time is a Warriors Tool here. As always, subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch this early (back on Tuesdays) or keep scouting here for it on Saturdays.

This week I’m reviewing a card that beatdown will love all over, Isolation:

Setups

Offense – Potential for damage or anger gain.

Defense – Prevent incoming damage or opponent’s effects.

Combo Potential – How it combos with other cards in the game.

R181 Isolation

Offense: 5.0/5

  • +1 Many styles crave more board control like Black, Saiyan, and Namekian. Forget about all allies like Guldo, Chi-Chi, and Piccolo and Isolate their Main Personality in combat.
  • +1 As a setup, save this for the right, opportune moment when it has the most impact.  It doesn’t take a phase so lay down the hate!
  • +1 Don’t worry about any drills like Orange Burning Aura, Black Targeting, or Saiyan Protection. True damage!

Defense: 4.0/5

  • +1 A field of allies is a daunting opponent. Stop 3-4 attacks from happening (I’m looking at you Tien Ally).
  • +1 Drills like Orange Aura, Red Despair, Orange Possession and Red Intimidation can get really out of hand. Save all that damage.
  • -1 It doesn’t affect setups and this is a big hole. Red Destiny, Namekian Fusion. A Black Power up means your Isolation was useless.

Combo Potential: 3.0/5

  • +1 Remember to use your “when entering” effects first! Your removal surpassing Orange Focusing Drill is a combo alone.
  • -1 This is like a sphere and stops effects against you, so it doesn’t really ‘combo’
  • -1 If your opponent doesn’t play Drills or Allies, it’s a dead card.

Total: 12.0/15

I like this card much better than Villainous Empowerment. Sometimes you can draw an event too early and it’s not useful. Lay down Isolation for when you need it the most.

Tune in next week for my third rotation starting again with Black Style. Have an idea on what Black Style card I should review? Let me know!
