Virtual Card Set 2013: Community Create-A-Card!

Garrett and I have been hard at work trying to come up with fun new ways for you to play the game with the Virtual Cards. We have a few cards in the pipeline that we are ready to reveal, including a new 1-4 personality set I had hoped would make it in the game and a new location that you may have seen in the stream. We will begin releasing those after the Midwest Championship, so we don’t disrupt that event with new cards.

In the meantime, we are going to start a three-week experiment on our Facebook page by having the community vote on a new Virtual Card. We are going to give you five choices of personalities for you to vote on in week one, in week two we’ll have you vote on the name of that personality while we come up with some powers that would fit with that personality (as well as things that won’t be overtly unbalanced at first glance) and then in the final week we will vote on those powers.

The first poll is up now, and we will total it up Saturday night.

Here are the first group of candidates:

Bardock Lv. 4

Bardock

Bardock recently went through an upgrade in the past few years, finally reaching Super Saiyan. Needless to say, this is way after the game ended so it never found it’s way in. Bardock wouldn’t be the first Capsule Corp Power Pack personality to get a Level 4 later on, and adding one for him would fit both the storyline and giving him some immunity from a 1-3 deck.

Hercule Lv. 4

Hercule Boozing

A fighter who actually has a handful of decent named cards. His ability to use Villains and Heroes Only cards shouldn’t be underrated, and maybe a Level 4 will be just the boost Hercule needs to see some play.

Krillin Lv. 5

Krillin as Chandler from Friends

Krillin really got shafted, missing out on a Level 5. He actually has some pretty good anger cards, like Krillin’s Quick Kicks and a Level 1 personality that can gain anger. Could a Level 5 make Krillin a viable anger personality?

King Cold Lv. 5

King Cold

Like Krillin, King Cold actually has some built in anger support with his Hi-Tech Level 2 or his Lost Villains Level 2 personality. Even his Level 4 Ultra Rare gains you anger for unexplained reasons. A Level 5 could give that anger some meaning.

Frieza Lv. 5

Frieza going apeshit

We’ve been trying to make Frieza somewhat more playable, but it certainly hasn’t been easy. A Level 5 probably won’t accomplish that, but it gives him more options, including a more viable win condition through Frieza’s Irritation Grows.

Voting ends Saturday (though the poll will likely stay up). Vote for your favorite or the one you’d most like to play.

Later BroZ!
